As expected, initial on-sales for the upcoming Police reunion tour sold
out in minutes and more shows were quickly added. The band will also
soon announce shows for Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on June 23, and
McAfee Stadium in Oakland on June 13.
On Saturday, two dates were sold out for the Air
Canada Centre in Toronto (July 22-23), Montreal sold out one (July 25)
and announced a second for July 26 that will go up this weekend.
Vancouver sold out the May 28 tour opener, and announced another on May
30 that goes up next weekend.

More than 100 of the world's top musicians will perform at a series of
worldwide concerts this summer to highlight the threat of global
warming, according to Reuters.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Black Eyed Peas will be among those taking part in the Live Earth gigs on 7 July.
The eight Live 8-style gigs were announced by former US Vice President
Al Gore, whose global warming film An Inconvenient Truth is up for two
Oscars.
Mr Gore made the announcement at a press conference in Los Angeles on
Thursday, joined by actress Cameron Diaz and rapper Pharrell Williams,
who will perform at one of the shows.

Aerosmith will take a break from working on a new studio album to tour
Europe this summer for the first time since 1999. The trek begins June
6 in Randers, Denmark, and will run through July 12 in Moscow.
Beforehand, the group will play in Dubai and Mumbai, India.
Also on the itinerary is a June 24 appearance at the
London festival Hyde Park Calling. "It's been way too long since we've
played the U.K. and Europe," says guitarist Joe Perry. "Some of the
most unforgettable gigs in my life have been played to incredible
European fans."

Casablanca/Universal Island's breakthrough artist Mika again scored
"double top" as the new U.K. sales charts were published yesterday
(Feb. 18). "Grace Kelly" started a fifth week atop the singles survey
while "Life in Cartoon Motion" began a second as Britain's best-selling
album.
"Grace Kelly" stayed at No. 1 ahead of Kaiser Chiefs'
"Ruby" (B Unique/Polydor), which held at No. 2, and "I Wanna Love You"
(Universal) by Akon featuring Snoop Dogg, which climbed 9-3 in its
seventh chart week. "The Sweet Escape" (Universal), on which Akon
guests with Gwen Stefani, improved 10-8.

Whitney Houston has dumped Brandy's younger brother Ray J after a
raunchy sex tape featuring him and ex-girlfriend Kim Kardashian was
leaked on the internet, according to The Associated Press.
The 43-year-old has been dating Ray J, 26, for several months and the two were reportedly living together.
According to veteran Hollywood columnist Janet Charlton, Houston became
outraged when the tape was leaked online and ended the relationship.

Britney Spears appeared in a tattoo parlor in the San Fernando Valley with her head shaved completely bald.
Video on KABC-TV showed the newly shorn Spears with tiny tattoos on the
back of her neck as she sits Friday night for a new tattoo — a pair of
red and pink lips.
"She just wanted something real small on her wrist, something dainty,"
Max Gott, the tattoo artist at Body and Soul in Sherman Oaks, told the
TV station. "She got some cute little lips on her wrist."

A federal judge has upped the ante with regard to just how un-exposed Paris Hilton is going to remain for the time being.
U.S. District Judge George King said Friday that he will issue a
preliminary injunction "in short order" that will continue to put the
kibosh on most of the personal items parisexposed.com proclaims to
offer, at least until the hotel heiress' invasion-of-privacy lawsuit
against the Website—and the people allegedly responsible for providing
it with a cache of Hilton's possessions—is resolved.

Interscope album, which is dubbed "Era Vulgaris," according to a post
on the group's Web site.
Purported song titles include "Into the Hollow," "Misfit Love," "Battery Acid" and "Sick, Sick, Sick."
"Could be song titles, or could not," the post
continues. "Go sign up on the mailing list for future insider info.
Then get off the Internet and go get laid -- its Valentine's Day."

Foxy Brown spent a night in a Pembroke Pines, Fla., jail after police
said she threw hair glue at a beauty shop employee and later swatted an
officer, her second legal problem stemming from a salon scuffle.
The 27-year-old rapper (real name: Inga Marchand) was
expected to leave jail this afternoon (Feb. 16) after a $1,500 bond was
posted for her, the Broward County (Fla.) Sheriff's Office said.
She
was charged with battery and resisting an officer with violence.
Brown's lawyer, New York state Sen. John Sampson, didn't return a phone
call seeking comment.

Singer/songwriter Brandi Carlile will release her sophomore album, "The
Story," April 3 via Columbia.
The 13-track set sports guest appearances
by the Indigo Girls on the song "Cannonball" as well as drumming from
session ace Matt Chamberlain. It was produced by T-Bone Burnett.
The title track is already available for sale on
iTunes and is going for radio adds now. In support of the album,
Carlile will hit the road for a spring tour, beginning with acoustic
sets March 30 in Seattle and the following evening in Portland, Ore.

Is the party over for Britney Spears? Or was it merely interrupted?
Reports swirled Friday that the increasingly pooped-looking pop star
was in rehab. But there was no confirmation from the singer's camp,
only conflicting reports that Spears was already out of rehab.
According to Extra, which first advanced the rehab story, Spears
checked into an unidentified treatment facility about two days ago.
