birthday party, so Joe Hardy's children were apparently determined to
make it one to remember.
Pop diva Christina Aguilera sang happy
birthday to Hardy, who turned 84 yesterday. Bette Midler performed
backed by an orchestra. Comedian Robin Williams was the after-dinner
performer.The party ran from two Saturday afternoon until two
o'clock Sunday morning so thee 500 guests could be there when the clock
struck midnight to ring in Hardy's birthday.
The Pittsburgh
Post-Gazette reports today that guests included former Governor Ed
Rendell, former Governor Tom Ridge and Pittsburgh Steelers player Troy
Polamalu (pah-lah-MAH'-loo).

Nothing lasts forever.
After many years climbing to the top of the American record
industry, hip-hop went from bull to bear in 2006. As recently as 2005,
there were at least four rap albums in the year's Top 10 best sellers.
This year, the only one to make it, Eminem's "Curtain Call," isn't even
a new album but a compilation. The only certified platinum rap release
came back in the spring, with T.I.'s "King," and even he couldn't break
2 million.

Christina Aguilera treated her kickboxing instructor to a Hawaiian holiday for Christmas.
The
'Dirrty' singer overheard her fitness guru telling a friend on the
phone that he couldn't attend a kickboxing tournament in Hawaii because
he couldn't afford it.
Christina was so pleased with the shape
he helped her get in before her tour that she paid for her instructor
to go to Hawaii, stay there and compete in the tournament. She also
paid for his wife to go with him, according to the National Enquirer
magazine.
Meanwhile, Christina has confessed she is so in love with her husband Jordan Bratman it makes her cry.

Nick Lachey is not ready to marry Vanessa Minnillo.
The singer - whose divorce from Jessica Simpson was finalised last year
- has slammed rumors he is planning to propose to MTV presenter Vanessa.
Nick told Access Hollywood: "The four-letter word that starts with an 'r' - we are not dealing with that one yet."
It was reported in December that Nick had phoned his ex-wife and told her he was marrying again.

25 year-old Simpson, who had a bitter-sweet year, ranging from her divorce from Nick Lakey to botched Dolly Parton tribute, insisted that her experiences in the past year have made her see life in a "whole new perspective".

Britney Spears'
manager has slammed reports that work on the pop star's comeback album
has been halted because record company executives are unhappy with her
songs so far, relates UTC news.
The star recently spent time in a New York City recording studio laying
down five new tracks, but executives were reportedly less than
impressed with her efforts.
According to New York Post columnist Cindy Adams, the project has come
to an abrupt stop midway through the recording process because bosses
are trying to decide whether to redo the tracks or to drop the project
entirely.

UNDATED (AP) - Britney Spears knows her
fans don't like what she's become and she's promising to change her
ways in the new year.
Her manager Larry Rudolph tells U-S-A Today that
Spears "knows exactly what she needs to do" to get over what she calls
her "rocky moment."
He says she'll focus on her new album, which is
about half finished. He predicts that Spears will be "at the top of the
entertainment industry very soon." If so, her biggest unofficial fan
Website won't be around to talk about it.

Pop star returns East Valley, after a weekend here, where she
reportedly made out with Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart at
Scottsdale’s Jackrabbit Supper Club, leading up to her snoozer at the
Pure nightclub in Las Vegas.
According to Life & Style Weekly, Britney Spears checked into
Scottsdale’s Sanctuary Spa at Camelback Mountain on New Year’s Day.

Britney Spears was tricked by Paris Hilton into thinking she had jeopardized her chances of ever having an orgasm again.
While the two 25-year-olds were partying at Los Angeles club Area the
'Toxic' singer lit the filter end of her cigarette which flared up as
she inhaled.
Paris then apparently told her it would damage her ability to climax.
A source revealed to the National Enquirer magazine: "Paris told
Britney, 'Oh my God! Don't you know that lighting a cigarette the wrong
way and inhaling stops the blood flow to your private parts, and doing
it more than once means you may never experience orgasm again!'
