 Slash has admitted that he wants his band Velvet Revolver to stop
playing songs by Guns N' Roses and Stone Temple Pilots, and would
instead like the two groups to reunite.
Slash also announced to Chilean magazine Rock & Pop that he intends to drop Guns N' Roses and Stone Temple Pilots songs from the setlist later this year.
However speaking to the Brazilian branch of MTV, the star, who left
Guns N' Roses in 1996, said reunions of both bands are a possibility.

 More than 1,100 Jackson family items are set for auction in Las Vegas
next month, but a representative for Michael Jackson says the pop star
is considering legal action to stop the sale.
"Mr. Jackson was not aware and he is extremely upset
that his memorabilia was included amongst the memorabilia that is being
auctioned off," said spokeswoman Raymone K. Bain.
The Jacksons Auction is scheduled May 30-31 at the Hard Rock hotel resort.
Guernsey's auction house said items include Michael
Jackson's gold record for his "Thriller" album, handwritten lyrics for
the Jackson Five hit "ABC" and a "Victory Tour" program signed by
Jackson family members.

 The Shins, the Wu-Tang Clan, Panic! At The Disco, the reformed Crowded
House and Lupe Fiasco lead the initial lineup for the 2007 installment
of Bumbershoot: Seattle's Music & Arts Festival.
The event will be
held Sept. 1-3 throughout the Seattle Center. Steve Earle, Devotchka,
Devendra Banhart, Roky Erickson, Allison Moorer and Magnolia Electric
Company are also on the bill.
Rounding out the lineup are Gogol Bordello, Kill
Hannah, Norma Jean, Plain White T's, the Gourds, Lyrics Born and the
Holmes Brothers, with scores of acts to be announced. This year's
Bumbershoot will be the first since organizers One Reel linked with AEG
Live to bolster talent buying and sponsorship resources.

 Former Creed frontman Scott Stapp settled a lawsuit against a company
that distributed video on the Web of a sexual encounter he and fellow
musician Kid Rock had with groupies in 1999, according to his lawyers.
The federal lawsuit filed in Los Angeles had alleged
two videotapes of the goings-on with four women on board a tour bus
during a Florida tour stop were stolen from a safe at Stapp's house.
Stapp claimed the company World Wide
Red Light District violated the law by selling downloads of the videos.
Under the settlement reached Friday (March 30), World Wide Red Light
District agreed not to resume distributing the footage, which the
company admitted it did not own, Stapp lawyer William G. Sayegh said.

 Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready and his U.F.O. tribute band Flight To
Mars will take the stage Saturday (April 7) at Seattle's Showbox as
part of the fifth annual benefit concert for the Northwest chapter of
the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
McCready went public in 2003 about
his battle with Crohn's, a debilitating stomach disorder, and has since
been heavily active in CCFA activities.
Proceeds from Saturday's concert, which will also
feature the Purrs, North Twin and Jeff Fielder, will allow the CCFA to
send younger Crohn's and colitis patients to a Paul Newman-sponsored
camp in California called the Painted Turtle. It will also fund group
events like hockey games and movie nights for patients and their
families.

 Reggaeton star Daddy Yankee has Akon and the Black Eyed Peas' Fergie
and will.i.am in his corner on "The Cartel: The Big Boss," due June 5
via El Cartel/Interscope. The first single is the Scott Storch-produced
"Impacto," an English remix of which will feature Fergie.
Other guests on "The Cartel" include Jim Jones and the
Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger. Production was supplied by Akon,
will.i.am, Mr. ColliPark, Eli "El Musicologo", Tiny Tunes, Diesel and
Menace.

 Timbaland has revealed that he is to work with Coldplay on their fourth album.
The super-producer revealed that he is coming to the UK in April to meet with the band, whom he is known to be a big fan of.
Speaking about his production method of not having a preconceived idea of what the sound will be, Timbaland told the US edition of GQ: "I try to get into their heads, see what they're thinking about. I just try to figure out how they are feeling.

 The Chemical Brothers have announced details of their forthcoming album.
The follow-up to 2005's 'Push The Button' is titled 'We Are The Night' and is due out in June via Freestyle Dust/Virgin Records.
The dance/electronica duo have also announced that they will play one show at London's Roundhouse on May 31, just ahead of the album's release date.

 Britney Spears has been granted a High Court injunction which prevents the British press from printing allegations about her recent stay at a US clinic in Malibu.
Legal representatives are also trying to apply for an additional court
order which demands that UK publications disclose the sources of their
stories.

 Blonde Redhead have put the finishing touches on their forthcoming album, '23', which is due out on April 10 via 4AD.
The follow-up to 2003's 'Misery Is A Butterfly' is the first album the band produced themselves.
"We've always been quite hands-on," lead singer Kazu Makino told NME.COM.
"Producing it ourselves felt sort of insular, but it was a very good
experience. It was such a struggle but it came out well in the end."

 The Police, The Smashing Pumpkins and Beastie Boys have been announced as the headliners for the US Virgin Festival.
The bash will take place between August 4-5 in Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
Producer Seth Hurwitz said the line-up would be made up of big bands.
